Matmat Centino, a veteran and legend in gay pageantry, was crowned winner of It’s Showtime’s newest segment “Miss Q & A.”
In an episode aired Monday, August 7, Matmat defeated 4-day defending champion Dhey Pascual Abital from the province of Negros.
During the Q&A portion, comedian and host Vice Ganda asked her:
“Ano ang mas maganda, spaghetti pababa o spaghetti pataas?” She confidently answered: “I believe kung hindi natin ito lalagyan ng “malisya” sa ating mga utak, kahit saang balanse pataas o pababa kung alin ka mas komportable. Ngunit kung ating isasapuso, mas masarap ang spaghetti pataas.”
“Let us know the low of gravity is pulling down. Di ba mas masarap kung palagi kang tinataas ng iyong kapwa, hindi yung hinuhusgahan ka at hinihila ka pababa. Lagi nating iisipin, hanggat wala kang ginagawang masama sa iyong kapwa masarap na ipinagtatanggol ka kaninuman parang spaghetti pataas.”
In the final rounds, Matmat garnered the highest percentage of votes from the judges and defeated defending champion with the score of 9.0 percent.
The self-confessed 42-year-old beauty queen will return on Tuesday to defend her crown.
