Master Showman German Moreno ‘Kuya Germs’ Passes Away at 82





German Moreno, also known as ‘Kuya Germs’ or the Master Showman of the Philippine showbiz industry, has passed away at exactly 3:20 am on Friday, January 8, after suffering a cardiac arrest.

“He passed on in the company of his family and friends. He lived a full life, touched so many hearts through the years, and helped make dreams come true for most of the biggest stars in the Philippine entertainment industry,” John Nite, Kuya Germs’ nephew confirmed the news via GMA News.

“We are deeply saddened by his passing but we are comforted by the thought that his legacy will live on,” he added.

The veteran television host suffered a mild stroke on January 2, 2015. His condition improved but one year after, he suffered another stroke and he was rushed to St. Lukes Medical Center in Quezon City.

Kuya Germs began his career in show business in the 1960s. He worked as a janitor and a curtain raiser at the Clover Theater. His biggest break came when he hosted “GMA Supershow” in the 1980s.

He was the man behind youth oriented show in the 1980s called “That’s Entertainment” for aspiring actors, dancers and singers.
