The X Factor Australia winner Dami Im earned a standing ovation for her semi-final performance at the 61st Eurovision Song Contest.
The 27-year-old singer wowed the audience with her her version of ‘Sound Of Silence’ at the Ericsson Global stadium in Stockholm, Sweden, on Friday.
“I could picture all my family watching, all getting up at 5am to see me and that made me a bit nervous,” Dami Im said after her performance.
“When I saw all the fans singing along and waving, and everyone cheering to me, I don’t cry all that often, but I burst into tears,” she said. “I was so touched how everyone was so supportive of me.”
The Australian singer secured a position in the final of the Eurovision Song Contest, which will be staged this weekend.
