Jex De Castro from Metro Manila was named first wild card winner of It’s Showtime singing competition “Tawag Ng Tanghalan.”
In an episode aired Monday, De Castro received a standing ovation from the judges as he performed “Love On Top” by Beyonce.
He received a total score of 99.80 percent from combined judges scores and text votes. De Castro defeated Phoebe Salvatierra, Joylaine Canonio and Hazelyn Cascanio during the “Ultimate Resbak” segment of the the show.
He will be back on Friday together with other winners to compete for the title. Two of the contestants will be chosen to join Tawag Ng Tanghalan grand finals to be held next week.
