Blind singer from Bacolod City Carlmalone Montecido has been named winner of It’s Showtime’s singing competition Tawag Ng Tanghalan “Huling Tapatan Day 3.”
In an episode aired Wednesday (March 8), Montecido performed his own version of “Estudyante Blues” by Freddie Aguilar. His performance earned him the highest number of text votes with 91.40 percent and a spot in the grand finals.

Montecido defeated other grand finalists Pauline Agupitan, Maricel Callo and Rachel Gabreza who will return again for a chance to earn a spot in the Top 5 of the singing competition.
Montecido is now up against Noven Belleza and Froilan Canlas in the grand finals of Tawag Ng Tanghalan on Saturday, March 11 at the Resorts World Manila in Pasay City.
