Two Filipino divers earned zero points after landing on their back during SEA Games Aquatics Diving 3-metre Finals (Men’s) on June 7, 2015 in Singapore.
John Elmerson Fabriga and John David Pahoyo from the Philippines ranked 7th and 8th while Malaysia received the gold medal, Indonesia in second place and Singapore won third.
“This was not the first time I failed a dive, and I was not the first one who did so. And I am still proud because not all of us has the privilege to represent our own country [in a] big sporting event like this,” Pahoyo said in a comment posted on the viral thread on Facebook, Thursday.
Netizens who watched the video were disappointed with the result while some asked the athletes to do better next time and to train well to avoid such embarrassment while representing the Philippines.

Like honestly, being an archipelago and being shi*** at swimming, diving or anything water related is inexcusable. We need the PSC to get it’s shi* together and support Philippine Athletes. Ya it’s funny when you first play it then you realize it actually isn’t funny knowing there are people willing to be great at sports but end up being shitty at it due to lack of support and funding.”

They have probably trained so hard for the past two years just for this game and one slip inconsistency ruin their chances of ever getting up the ranks form the bottom two which they had already felt bad about not to mention, live on national TV. And you think it’s hilarious. Please, do show some respect for the athletes.”
