Last week, Binibining Pilipinas International 2017 Mariel de Leon slammed Mocha Uson’s appointment as Presidential Communications Operations Office (PCOO) Assistant Secretary.
Mariel voiced out her opinion and called Mocha’s appointment “biased and disrespectful.”
On Friday, May 12, Mariel apologized to those offended by her comments about Mocha on Instagram.
She wrote: “Like all Filipinos, I love my country and I hope for a better Philippines. With or without a crown, I will continue to shoe my love for the nation by discussion issues that affect us. I apologize to anyone who was offended as it was not my intention to do so. i wish Asec. Mocha Uson success in her job. Moving forward, I will use this title as a platform to promote unity for the country.”
Meanwhile, Mariel’s apology did not sit well with other netizens, saying that “damage has been done,” while some told her to be more careful when making remarks about the government.
