Maria Angelica “Mariel” De Leon, daughter of actor Christopher De Leon and actress Sandy Andolong, was named winner of Binibing Pilipinas International 2017.
She was crowned by Miss International 2016 Kylie Verzosa Mariel during the grand coronation of Bb. Pilipinas held at the Smart Araneta Coliseum in Quezon City Sunday night.

During the Q&A portion, Mariel was asked what activity she excelled in that was traditionally male-dominated and she answered, “In anything I do, I can excel over men. It’s not about gender, but about your strength, your ability, and your confidence, and with that, you can achieve anything.”
Mariel took home P500, 000 worth of contract from BPCI; P500,000 worth of endorsement contract; complete wardrobe sponsorship from BPCI; insurance; 18 months of salon and gym sponsorship; and a full scholarship.
She also won special awards such as Miss Cream Silk and Best in Long Gown.
