Taylor Swift and Nicki Minaj kicked off the 2015 MTV Video Music Awards together. Minaj opened the show with her song “Trini Dem Girls.”

Swift then surprised the crowd by appearing on stage to join Nicki for the song. They then finished by singing Swift‘s hit song “Bad Blood.”
Two months ago, Minaj criticized MTV for not extending a Video of the Year nomination to “Anaconda.” Swift interpreted Minaj’s social media complaints as a personal attack and accused her of “pitting women against each other,” but apologized after her response was widely criticized.
