Star Magic on Andrea Brillantes Viral Video “NOT TRUE”

The Kapamilya Network has not release their official statement on the issue of Andrea Brillantes alleged video but Star Magic Philippines, sometimes referred to as ABS-CBN Talent Center, has made a statement on their official Twitter account:

“Rumors about Andrea Brillantes is NOT TRUE! Stop spreading false information. Please RT,” it said.


The malicious video posted in several websites circulated in social media early Friday, July 10. A Facebook page was also created for the child actress but was already taken down.

Again, we would like to encourage you to stop spreading the video. Doing so is punishable by law. Please read the information below.

Republic Act No. 9995 or the Anti-Photo and Video Voyeurism Act of 2009: Taking a photo or video coverage of a person or group of persons performing sexual act. It includes capturing an image of a person’s private parts. Reproduction, copying, selling, or distribution of the photo or video of sexual act. Publishing, broadcasting, showing or exhibiting the photo or video of sexual act.

Revised Penal Code, Article 355: A libel committed by means of writing, printing, lithography, engraving, radio, phonograph, painting, theatrical exhibition, cinematographic exhibition, or any similar means, punishable by prision correccional in its minimum and medium periods or a fine ranging from 200 to 6,000 pesos, or both, in addition to the civil action which may be brought by the offended party.
