American actress and humanitarian Angelina Jolie has filed for divorce for husband Brad Pitt after 12 years together.
According to Jolie’s lawyer Robert Offer, the actress filed for dissolution of the marriage, with a decision made “for the health of the family.”

“She will not be commenting, and asks that the family be given its privacy at this time,” Offer said in a statement.
Jolie and Pitt, nicknamed “Brangelina” by fans, have been together since 2004.
In August 2014, they were married in a small, private ceremony in a chapel at Château Miraval in the village of Correns.
The date of separation is listed as September 15, 2016.
They have six children namely Maddox, 15, Pax, 12, Zahara, 11, Shiloh, 10, and twins Knox and Vivienne, 8.
