The reign of fashion model Aeron Mendoza from Caloocan City is over as the three-day defending champion bowed to new winner Aila Santos on Tuesday, July 18, 2017.
Santos, a band vocalist from Davao City, impressed the audience and judges with her rendition of Robin Beck’s “First Time” during the daily rounds.
She defeated Mendoza after performing her own version “Against All Odds” by Mariah Carey. She received the highest score of 94.6 percent from the judges.
Santos said she joined the competition to start her online shop and to build her own music studio. She will be back on Wednesday to defend her title.
