I know, this kind of post is usually ignored by many readers and bloggers. But think of this, no one could help a Filipino, but Filipinos themselves. Commit yourself. Join us. Let’s spread the word.

One fear of going to Basilan is the old belief that it is indeed a place of Abu-Sayaff. Do you know that it’s only brought by bad publicities long way back? I’ve never been to Basilan, but friends from Mindanao have told me that negative expectations about Basilan suffered not only the ecotourism, but Basilan as a whole.

The people of Basilan continue to suffer the consequences. Their dreams were altered by political insurgencies in their land and now they need us.

How can we help?

Since many of our readers are fellow bloggers, why don’t we maximize our effort and write about the project headed by Ibno Hajar Turabin, President of BIDA (Basilan Island Development Association).

The Association organized a project called, Project: H.E.L.P. Basilan

Project H.E.L.P. Basilan primary focus:

@ Itot actually di na sia tulad nung dati na madalas ang kaguluhan. Kung meron man, di naman sa buong basilan. Let’s say me ibang parte lang. Tahimik naman na ngayon. Takot lang pumunta ang iba dahil nga nabansagang lugar ng mga abu sayaff ang area. Maganda ang tourism dyan. Mostly sa mga nababasa ko ok sia lalo na pag nadevelop. Kaya tulong tayo kapatid. Palaganapin natin ang word na to. Kung nagawa ng Pinay Scandal na pagandahin ang moral ng Pinay sa internet. Eto pa kaya na mismong Bayan natin.

Btw, laki pala stretchmarks mo kitang kita lol. Testing ko lang muna yan. Kung ok di ko na aalisin,

I’ve been to Luuk, Sulu - kapitbahay ng Basilan. And I’ve met an Abu Sayyaf. Long story at basahin niyo na lang sa A Pinay in England soon

It’s ignorance that mainly prevents from people from appreciating each other. Mindanao may have its share of troubles, but hey, Manila is in a worse state if you ask me.

funny, a friend of mine who also went to Basilan easrly this year said the same thing. Mas magulo pa raw sa metro.
