Nepal Hit by Another 7.4 Powerful Earthquake (VIDEOS)

Nepal has been hit by another powerful earthquake on Tuesday (May 12), sending people running out of the streets, more than two weeks after a 7.8-magnitude quake which killed more than 8,000 people.

The US Geological Survey initially said the quake had a magnitude of 7.1 and struck 42 miles (68km) west of the town of Namche Bazaar, close to Mount Everest. The quake was upgraded to a magnitude of 7.4 minutes later. Shockwaves were felt as far away as the Indian capital, Delhi.

The quake’s epicenter was close to Everest Base Camp, which was evacuated after an avalanche triggered by the April 25 quake killed 18 climbers. Mountaineers seeking to scale the world’s tallest peak have called off this year’s Everest season.
