There are many ways to attract comments on your blog, but one thing i’ve noticed, when you talk about sex and money, for sure your post could be a blockbuster hit!
The important key in attracting more comments on your blog is to make your post interesting. Interesting in the sense that it connects “Me and You, You and Me”. In other words, do not write post that looks like talking to yourself. Hey, how about your readers?
Some blogs have a wide audience, but comments are very rare. Remember, having lots of comments on your post is a sure sign of growth. Yes, it’s a good sign of blog’s growth. That means your blog is healthy and you are writing with sense.
Your post is too dry. Sometimes people do not leave comments because they have nothing to answer. After reading your post, they usually just nod as a sign of agreement on your post. Why don’t you leave questions that you think would encourage a response. That way, you are attracting comments to start a good conversation.
Do not write a very long post. Few people are lazy sometimes, especially when at first glance they would see a very long post. In my experience, i’ve already caught some people who just dropped their comments without reading the whole post. They would ask few questions where in fact the answers are already in the content of the entry. If you can write the subject briefly much better.
Try to reply on each every comment. You interaction with the readers reflects on your personality. If you leave their questions hanging, expect they won’t come back anymore. Make them feel their comments are valuable. Try to answer and appreciate with a simple notes like – “I agree” and “Thank you.” Such way they would feel they are really important to you.
Lastly, use plugins like Lucias Link Love, Commentluv, Mybloglog Avatar and Threaded Comments.

Eto, trulala story.
I stumbled upon a blog many years back that I really like. I liked what he wrote and so I wrote my comment on word processing, making sure all the commas and hypens are correct and so are the spelling as well. This blog has a wide readership. Whereas most of the commenters were answered by this person, mine was left alone. AMMMFFFTTT! Comment ko nag-iisa. Inaraw araw kung bisitahin kung pinansin ako. Wala and to think that I spent some bloody effort to leave a really nice comment. Ang hayup at isnabero! Later, dahil nga matagal na me here in the US, I would found out na big blogger daw to sa Pinas. Eh uud pa lang ako sa blogging noh?
Soon, my readership increased. Guess who made pansin to me this time? Hehehe! But I responded to his comments nicely. STOP NA DITO STORY BAKA MAKILALA NYO. hehehehe! To cut the story short, I don’t visit his site anymore.
He taught me a very good lesson actually kahit feeling nya eh nasa whatever cloud level ever ever sya. A lesson that I would take seriously. So, if you notice, I am uber responsive to all commenters kahit na inaaway pa ako. Kahit dun sa Cbox, sinasagot ko ang mga yan. Even on the emails, everthing is answered. Even if they tell me to go and vote on top of Mt. Mayon, visit ko naman at vote. Kahit anong pagawa saken. Pwera lang yung *I link you – please link me! (tangna nya!)* Kaya lang minsan nalulukring na ako sa haba nang messages! hahahaha!! Di ko na masundan ever!!!

Sorry mahal, aangkinin ko na tong blog mo:
It’s not just a matter of asking or engaging your readers through your post. It’s really a whole combination of what ticks to your readers. You have to carefully thread between quality entries and connecting to your readers. Kahit na quality entry ka, kung di ka magetz nang readers mo, zero ang comment mo.
Bottom line is this: there are two very important salient points in making entries that will draw your readers and start making comments and for the most part, they might even come back. You actually have these. They are:
1.) They could get value from your entry
2.) It’s free
Yong value na nakukuha nila sa entry mo does not necessarily mean pera. It could be laughter to make their day, it could be tips to make money or it could be ways to make friends and network and if they could get it from your blog for free, they will come back and will surely leave a message.

naku ha? hehehe! it’s your visitors and readers who will judge you but this i can tell you. based on experience – if you are still new into blogging, bombard your blog with a slew of different articles that touches on anything and see what clicks to your readers. but make sure those that clicks are the ones that you are good at writing. it takes a bit of studying at analyzing kung ano ang gusto nila. yaan mo, tulog muna na lola dahil me meeting pa bukas, kairita, eyeswear mememoryahin ko lahat nang entrie mo! hehehe!!

Depende rin siguro sa content mo kung kailangang mahaba o maikli. Kunwari balita ang ilalagay na post, mas magandang may commentary ng blogger kaysa sobrang ikling excerpt lang sabay link sa news source. Just a thought.

you can also start a contest and give away money for your top commentators like someone i know (sino kaya yun?) hehehe.
anyway, i would have to disagree with the long posts, i have read a lot of very interesting articles that took me quite some time to finish reading through and still i had the time to leave a comment (i.e. Maki’s DoshDosh)
i guess with long posts, you have to:
1. use visual breaks like putting photographs in between paragraphs so that the post won’t look “monotonous” (read: boring)
2. properly organize your thoughts and write in a sequence of paragraphs that will be easy to follow and understand. if your article is long, then don’t beat around the bush or give circular and redundant points.
i’ll stop at two, baka may mag-nosebleed… haha. senha na, madaldal talaga ako minsan

Fitz ako un! Hahaha. I removed the Top Commentator for the meantime para suspense kung sino ang winner sa March 1 haha.
With long post, inserting photographs is very effective tool actually. You’re right pag redundant and sinusulat it’s something i have to stop from reading.
With long post, sometimes the blogger tends to discuss all that he knows. But remember, we have to give break for our readers. If we can discuss some points in the comment section instead of writing it, that’s better. Anyway, that’s what good in a short post naman. Dumadami ang comments kasi napag-uusapan ang ibang points sa comment section. Yung iba kasi, ang haba.
Naku ok lang yan Fitz, you are free to write anything you want here! Look at Mahal na Reyna, akala ko nga nagpalit na kami ng blog haha.

Masaya ako at nakita ko itong blog mo. Sa totoo lang ngayon lang ako nagcomment ng tagalog. Alam kong maraming pinoy bloggers pero ikaw talaga yung pinoy na pinoy ang dating dahil sa domain name na ginamit mo.
Tinamaan ako sa sinabi mo na “Few people are lazy sometimes, especially when at first glance they would see a very long post.” hehe tama ka. Kung masyadong mahaba ang content binabase ko nalang sa title ng article ang comment na gagawin ko. Mali pero nangyayari talaga ito.
May kasabihan nga “Content is King” kaya importante talaga na interesting yung content mo para madaling maatrak ang mga viewers and for you to generate traffic.
