Liza Soberano as Miss Universe 2015 Pia Alonzo Wurtzbach in Maalala Mo Kaya (MMK) was aired Saturday night, June 3, 2017 via ABS-CBN network.
Liza played the lead role as Pia in MMK 25 “The Pia Wurtzbach Story” with special participation by Lee O’Brian, PBB former housemate Fifth Solomon and Zsa Zsa Padilla.
The MMK special episode was titled “Korona” and directed by Nuel Naval. The story started from Pia’s childhood days with her parents, when they were still together.
She was devastated when her father chose to live for another woman. From Cagayan de Oro, Pia then moved to Manila with her mom and sister to start a new life.
Her mom encouraged her for a series of auditions from modeling and actress, but they moved to UK when her mom married her boyfriend.
It was during her vacation here in the Philippines when Mercator Artist and Model Management, Inc president Jonas Gaffud approached and offered her to join Bb. Pilipinas.
She was crowned Miss Universe Philippines 2015 on her third try and compete in Las Vegas where she won the title of Miss Universe 2015.
