Johnny Gates, a lead singer in a rock band, performed his cover of “Maggie May” by Rod Stewart on The Voice Season 12 Blind Auditions.
In an episode aired Tuesday (March 7), Gates made the three coaches push the red button with Blake Shelton, Gwen Stefani and lastly Alicia Keys.
“Your energy pops to the whole place and your tone is outrageous,” said Alicia. “I just love to have you on my team,” she added.

“It makes sense because you have such presence up there,” said Gwen. “Your voice is incredible.” “Selfishly I am a fan of yours already,” exclaimed Blake.
Eventually, the 31-year-old rock band singer from Providence Rhode Island chose to join Team Gwen.
