WATCH: Chris Blue Wins The Voice Season 12, Lauren Duski Finishes Second

Season 12 of The Voice came to a close Tuesday night, May 23, when Chris Blue from Team Alicia beat out Lauren Duski from Team Blake for the top spot.

Chris’ victory is Alicia Keys’s first win as a coach. Last season, Team Blake’s Sundance Head was crowned winner of The Voice, defeating runner-up Bill Gilman.

Chris took the crown—beating out runner-up Lauren, third-place finisher Team Adam’s Jesse Larson and fourth-place finisher Aliyah Moulden from Team Blake with outstanding performances throughout the show, including his original song ‘Money On You,’ a song written by J hart, Talay Riley, Mike Dupree, Scribz Riley & Tinashe “T-Collar” Sibanda.

He also performed “Rhythm Nation” by Janet Jackson and “Diamonds and Pearls” with Alicia.

Chris won a cash prize and a recording contract with Universal Republic Records.

The star-studded grand finale featured performances by Miley Cyrus, Chris Stapleton, Zedd and Alessia Cara, CeeLo Green, Little Big Town, Jennifer Hudson and Usher.
