Carl Malone Montecido from Bacolod City is again the defending champion on It’s Showtime’s ‘Tawag Ng Tanghalan.
In an episode aired, Tuesday, February 14, 2017, the blind balladeer was named winner of the singing contest after defeating 6th-time defending champion Jex de Castro.
Carl Malone serenade the audience with his cover of “Huwag Ka Lang Mawawala” during the daily rounds and performed “Ikaw Ang Lahat Sa Akin” in the final rounds. The 18-year-old singer received an average score of 94.8 percent from the judges, while Jex got 92.2 percent.
Last November, Carl Malone failed to enter the semifinals of the competition after daily round winner Mark Laspinas emerged winner during the final sing rounds of Tawag Ng Tanghalan.
On Wednesday, Carl Malone will return to the “It’s Showtime” to defend his title.
