Chris Blue performed his heartfelt version of “Take Me To The King” on The Voice Season 12 Top 8 Semifinals on Monday, May 15, 2017.
According to Blue, he chose the song because: “I come from church and that’s my roots I don’t feel like I’ve shown America the pure Chris Blue.”

During his performance, Alicia Keys and Gwen Stefani gave him a standing ovation and appeared to have tears in their eyes.
Keys said, “I knew you could do it, and just let all the walls down and tap into that place in yourself.”
