Another gold for the Philippines! On Thursday, August 24, the Philippine Men’s Ice Hockey Team bagged the country’s 14th gold medal after defeating Thailand at the 29th Southeast Asian Games in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia.
The Philippine team defeated Thailand 5-4 to win the gold.
Sports reporter Dyan Castillejo confirmed the news on Instagram.
She wrote, “Bravo to our Ice Hockey Team !!! First ever Ice Hockey Sea Games champs !!!”
As reported, this is the first time that ice hockey was featured in the biennial meet, making the Philippine team its first ever champion.
