Pacquiao was given a 119-103 victory on two judges scorecards and 120-102 win on the other card. Pacquiao had six knockdowns and forced one standing eight count for the win. Algieri was outclassed from the start by the eight-time champion.

“Tonight I did my best,” Pacquiao said. “I’m satisfied with my performance. I did my best and that was enough.”

Meanwhile, Freddie Roach expressed his disappointment over the American boxer, “The master boxer was given a master class by Professor Pacquiao,” he said. “I was disappointed by Algieri. All he did was run. He didn’t show the heart or the [expletive] he did versus Ruslan Provodnikov.”

Pacquiao improved his record to 57-5-2. Algieri is now 20-1. It was Pacquiao’s 58th win against five losses and two draws. Algieri, meanwhile, lost for the first time in his professional career.
