President Rodrigo Duterte was moved to tears after meeting a young blind soldier at the Armed Forces of the Philippines (AFP) General Hospital on V. Luna Road in Quezon City on Tuesday, August 2, 2016.
Lieutenant Jerome Jacuba was among the soldiers Duterte met when he made a visit at the hospital.
After Duterte saluted him and hold his hand, he pulled Jacuba into a long hug. The 28-year-old soldier could not contain his emotions and the President too was moved to tears.

Jacuba became blind after he was hit by an IED during an operation. He was admitted in the hospital March 4.
According to Maj. William Recuenco, Jacuba’s attending physician, Jacuba would no longer see again. He will be staying at the hospital for rehabilitation and to learn how to live with his condition.
