Miss Universe 2015 Pia Alonzo Wurtzbach is finally home! The Filipina beauty queen arrived at the Ninoy Aquino International Airport (NAIA) early Saturday, January 23, for her Grand Homecoming.
“Thank you very much for coming here. I know it’s quite early, but I appreciate your taking your time to come here,” Wurtzbach said to her supporters at the NAIA VIP Lounge.
“I don’t want to reveal too much because I’m saving all my stories and my experiences for the press conference that will be happening tomorrow,” she added.
Wurtzbach will start with her official duties on Sunday (January 24) with a press conference with members of local and international media.
This is the first time Wurtzbach has visited the country after the controversial Miss Universe in December 2015, when coronation night host Steve Harvey wrongfully crowned first runner-up Miss Colombia instead.
It’s been 42 years since the Philippines won the Miss Universe crown. Pia Wurtzbach is the 3rd Miss Universe from the Philippines.
