A German climber managed to capture the moment an avalanche on Mt. Everest barreled into a group of people after Saturday’s powerful 7.8 earthquake in Nepal.

The video footage was posted on Youtube by Jost Kobusch, a climber from Germany who previously has posted clips about preparations for his expedition.

“The ground was shaking from the earthquake and as soon as we saw people running we were running ourselves to save our lives,” Kobusch wrote in the description.
