Presidential eldest daughter and Davao City Mayor Inday Sara Duterte is seven weeks pregnant with triplets.
“On this happy note, I would also like to share with you the news that I am pregnant and cannot join you in merrymaking activities,” Sara said in a statement.
“We are expecting triplets and they are doing well on their 7th week,” she added.
Sara admitted: “I will continue to work until I am allowed by the doctors to do so, however, I have been advised to avoid crowded places to lessen the chances of acquiring infections,” she said.
“I maybe physically weak but rest assured that I am on top of the situation here in our city,” Duterte reassured her constituents.
The 38-year-old Mayor is married to lawyer Manases Carpio with two kids, Sharky, 7, and Stingray, 3.
Meanwhile, Communications Secretary Martin Andanar said in a statement, “The President is delighted with the news of his daughter’s pregnancy. He is also hopeful that she will able to see through the pregnancy smoothly and well,” he said.
Andanar added, “Mayor Sara’s pregnancy serves as a source of inspiration for the Chief Executive to roll up his sleeves and work double time in his fight against crimes and drugs.”
