Duterte’s Inauguration Menu for Guests ‘Maruya and Buko Juice’


President-elect Rodrigo Duterte stick on his promise of living a simple life. During his June 30 inauguration, there will be no lechon or the typical fiesta food to be served to his guests.

According to incoming Palace communications secretary, “finger foods will be served but the main dish will be banana fritters (maruya). There will be finger foods and cocktails, but if I’m not mistaken, the drink will be buko juice.

The inauguration will be attended by his family, members of the diplomatic corps, congressmen, policemen, military, other government officials, and other people close to him.

Meanwhile, Duterte’s inauguration committee has also said that the oath taking will be held at the Rizal Ceremonial Hall of Malacañang where limited people are allowed to enter.

The committee added that Duterte would like to apologize to Filipinos for not being able to have his inauguration at a larger venue because he wanted his oath-taking to be a simple one.
