Philippine bet Pia Wurtzbach emerged as one of the favorite contestants at the 64th Miss Universe Preliminary Competition held at Planet Hollywood in Las Vegas on Wednesday, December 16, 2015.

The 26-year-old Wurtzbach joined 79 other candidates in the prelims, which will determine who will emerge as the top 15 and will only be revealed during the grand coronation at the Planet Hollywood Resort and Casino in Las Vegas, Nevada, on December 20 (December 21, Philippine time).
Meanwhile, the national costume portion of the Miss Universe 2015 pageant is pre-taped on December 16 and will be formally showcased on December 20.
