Miss Universe 2015 Pia Alonzo Wurtzbach finished her reign on Monday, January 30, by passing her crown to the Miss Universe Iris Mattenaere of France.
Pageant mentor Jonas Gaffud, who mentored both Maxine Medina and Wurtzbach, shared a photo of Wurtzbach hugging Medina after the coronation.

In an interview by ABS-CBN News, Wurtzbach said she intentionally went out of her way to look for Medina on stage to comfort her.

She said, Medina was really under a lot of pressure as Filipinos were hoping for back-to-back Miss Universe titles. “She wasn’t crying, she was actually okay… She was really worried about making everybody proud,” she added.
