Riley Elmore, 16, wowed the coaches with a performance of Frank Sinatra‘s “The Way You Look Tonight” on The Voice Season 11 Blind Auditions premiere episode on Monday, September 19, 2016.
Coach Adam Levine turned his chair first, followed by Blake Shelton. Miley Cyrus looks at Shelton and said, “So amazing” but she doesn’t even hit the buzzer.
Shelton continued, “He’s the real deal…the real deal…” but the new coaches completely ignored him.
“There’s a soft spot in my heart for that song. I sing that song like once a week,” Levine said. “This music is important to you, I felt that. I also heard your youth and inexperience, which made me even more excited, because then I thought to myself, ‘Oh man, I can teach this guy a lot of stuff!’ There were moments that it was brilliant and I want to make every moment brilliant.”
