Rachel Gabreza, a sales lady from Metro Manila, is the newest winner of ABS-CBN “It’s Showtime” singing competition “Tawag Ng Tanghalan.”
The 23-year-old singer won the daily rounds of the competition after representatives from Visayas and Mindanao received a ‘Gong’ from the judges.
Gabreza performed again with her version of “Go The Distance” from the animated movie “Hercules” which earned her a standing ovation from the judges as well as from the studio audience.
Her version of Jennifer Hudson’s “I Am Changing” helped her dethrone the 3-time defending champion Jessa Montefalcon from Luzon, who sang “Maghintay Ka Lamang.”
She will return on Wednesday to defend her title.
