Noven Belleza, dubbed as the “Bukid Boy Ng Negros,” successfully defended his “Tawag ng Tanghalan” title on “It’s Showtime.”
On Thursday, the rice farmer from Victorias City belted out ‘Having You Near Me’ by Air Supply which earned him a spot in the quarter three semifinal rounds of the singing contest.
Belleza received a total average score of 95.6 percent and defeated daily winner Fernando Dumayao from Mindanao, who also impressed the judges with his OPM version of ‘Sana’y Maulit Muli’ by Gary Valenciano.
Belleza joined Tawag Ng Tanghalan to support his family and to pay for home repairs. Touched by his story, comedian Vice Ganda promised him that he would pay for the school expenses of his siblings next year.
