Jeremiah Tiangco from Cavite is the new Tawag Ng Tanghalan winner after defeating 8th-time defending champion Rachel ‘Sales Diva’ Gabreza from Metro Manila.
On Thursday, Tiangco performed his soulful version of ‘Broken Vow’ while Gabreza did her cover of Sheryn Regis’ ‘Coming On In Out Of The Rain.’ After their performance, the judges scored Tiangco with 92.6% while Gabreza earned 90%.
Gabreza took home a total of P195,000 and has secured a spot in the semifinals. Tiangco will return Friday to defend his title.

Netizens expressed disappointment after the result of the competition. Many were not satisfied and claimed that the band sabotaged Gabreza’s performance.
Meanwhile, one of the judges, Yeng Constantino, voice out her opinion that Rachel made a mistake and forgot the sequence of her performance. Watch the video below.
