Filipino shadow play group El Gamma Penumbra received the last ‘Golden Buzzer’ from the four judges on Asia’s Got Talent semi-final rounds on Thursday, April 30, 2015.
The group was the second Filipino dance group to get the Golden Buzzer advancing to the grand finals, the first being Junior New System last April 23.
Indonesian rock icon Anggun said their performance was really emotional. “You make me really proud. I’m sure you made Filipino proud tonight,” she added.
“I just want to say that I live in a box, where I make music in a studio. And tonight, I got to come outside of my box and see something that was so, so moving and magical. It just amazed me,” said David Foster after their performance.
“Incredible performance. You moved everybody,” said UK pop sensation and former Spice Girl Melanie C.
Filipino music student Gerphil Flores also made it to the grand finals on the same night by public vote.
