On Monday, all the four remaining contestant performed two songs each following the theme “Killer Tracks and Curveballs.” Cyrus sang Phil Collins’s “In the Air Tonight” and Ed Sheeran’s “Don’t.”

After his first performance, judge James Blunt said it would be a “joke” if Cyrus was not in the grand finals.

“In the Air Tonight” was his Curveball song – “Don’t” was his Killer Track – and his mentor Chris Isaak said “it wasn’t an obvious choice” for the Fil-Aussie singer.

All four judges gave the 19-year-old student a standing ovation, with Guy Sebastian calling his performance “sick” and “on point” while Dannii Minogue said “it’s painful it was so good” and “that is was a “grand final kind of performance.”

Next week, the winner of The X Factor Australia 2015 will be revealed during the Grand Finals episode of the competition!
