Alisan Porter was crowned winner of The Voice season 10 on Tuesday, May 24. For the first time, Team Christina Aguilera got the top spot this season and the first female coach to lead a contestant to win the title.
The former ‘Curly Sue’ actress beat out Adam Wakefield, Hannah Huston and Laith Al-Saadi. She won a cash prize and a recording contract with Universal Republic Records.
Porter was one of the early favorite in the competition, wowing Aguilera, Blake Shelton, Pharrell and Adam Levine with her cover of “Blue Bayou” during the blind auditions round.
The star-studded grand finale featured performances by former coach Cee Lo Green, Ariana Grande, Sia, Zayn Malik, Little Big Town and Jennifer Nettles.
Meanwhile, The Voice is set to return with new season this coming September 2016, no the exact date has not yet been released. In addition, veteran judges Blake Shelton and Adam Levine are returning, but Christina Aguilera has left the show and Pharrell Williams will be gone as well. Next season will be the first season that there will be two female judges – Miley Cyrus and Alicia Keys.
