High School Musical star Zac Efron is reportedly in negotiations to join Paramount’s “Baywatch” opposite Dwayne Johnson, the big-screen take on the 90’s television series about California lifeguards.
The Rock apparently made it official. On Monday, Johnson tweeted:

According to Variety, Seth Gordon will direct the movie whileJohnson will also produce along with his partner Dany Garcia through their Seven Bucks Productions banner. Montecito Pictures and Beau Flynn are producing as well. Michael Berk, Douglas Schwartz and Greg Bonnan will exec produce as well.
Sources close to the project reveal that the studio is taking a comedic route with the film. Production is expected to start in early 2016.
