BB Gandanghari is now legally a woman after a US court approved her petition to change her name and gender.
Gandanghari announced the news on Wednesday, November 16 via photo-sharing site Instagram.
She posted a photo with caption, “This is it! And I thought this day would never come. And I thank my GOD and my LORD for making these things happen. Everything makes sense now… and to this great country the United States of America for providing this #basicrhumanright… Thank you!!! #officiallyBBlegallyGandanghari.”
Gandanghari, previously known as Rustom Padilla, filed the documents last August to change her name to Binibini Gandanghari before the Superior Court of California, County of Orange, last August 18, 2016.
