Pinoy Ambisyoso is joining the One Hour Campaign on March 29, 2008 from 8pm to 9pm. The campaign’s called 60 Earth Hour.
“Earth Hour, run by WWF, the conservation organization, is a global climate change initiative which calls on individuals and businesses around the world, to turn off their lights for one hour on Saturday March 29 2008 between 8 pm and 9pm.
The aim of the campaign is to express that individual action on a mass scale can help change our planet for the better.
The event itself will clearly demonstrate in participating cities, the connection between energy usage and climate change, showing that we as broader community can address the biggest threat our planet has ever faced.”
Last year in Sydney, Australia made a successful event joined by almost 2 Million people in the city. An hour of quiet darkness. And on March 29, 2008 over 20 cities around the world will be joining Earth Hour including Manila.
Global warming is one of the major threats that the world has ever faced according to the conservation organization. The world is heating up! Heat waves, ocean warming, coastal flooding, glaciers melting, drought and jungle fires, coral reef bleaching and many others are signs of global warming.
Join me and the rest of the world for One Hour of Total Darkness on March 29, 2008 - 8pm-9pm.
