“Started as hoarseness, neck pain, and enlarged lymph nodes.

Prognosis after the first biopsy is already malignant. Medullary cancer was the judgment, and cancer cells tend to spread to large numbers of lymph nodes very early on, and therefore requires a much more aggressive operation. This requires complete thyroid removal plus a dissection to remove the lymph nodes of the front and sides of the neck.

The cause was hereditary, and non-surgical treatments and medications have been tried.

I already tried chemotherapy and radioactive iodine, but since medullary thyroid cancer does not arise from this type of thyroid cell, radioactive iodine therapy is not useful for the treatment.”

This is an email i received yesterday from my friend who was diagnosed with Thyroid Cancer, Stage II. I thought it was a joke. Our conversation via phone goes deeper and deeper. Then he said, i want to take rest, i can’t talk much. I even told him are you kidding? He said, i consulted three doctors and the findings were the same.

Month ago, i was asked by Barry how to make a blog. He said if there’s a good extra income, he can make one like others do. By that time, i know he’s suffering from a Throat disorder, but never imagined that it was already a Thyroid Cancer.

My friends is from San Pedro, Laguna. He’s working in an industrial park as a regular employee and stop for a while because his illness needs serious attention. He’s suffering from body malaise. It seems that the cancer cells are spreading rapidly deep into his body.

In our phone conversation, then again he said, what can i do to raise fund for my sickness? He spent almost a half-million pesos for the treatment, he even lost his bank savings for it. Now he needs Pph80,000.00 or almost $2000.00 for the scheduled operation.

While listening to him, i am certain. I must do something to help my friend. I don’t know actually how to start, but i know i can call your attention while reading this.

Now my plan for him is to raise funds for his treatment. I want to call all your attention my dearest readers, friends, family and bloggers to please save my friend. The doctor said he needs an immediate surgery to remove the tumor in his throat. If not, his condition will get worst and even fatal. After the surgery, the doctor said he’ll be given a year to observe his condition.

There’s nothing i can do to help Barry aside from prayers and acceptance. It’s not easy to accept it. He always ask God why he’s suffering from this illness. I said, be strong Barry.

During difficult times, especially when a friend’s suffering, we are always affected, what if one of your family members were in my friends’s case? What will you do?
