The Metro Manila Film Festival (MMFF) screening committee has just announced the official entries for the 38th Metro Manila Film Festival.

Out of 14 entries, only 8 were selected and the 6 movies who failed are the following – (1) Ben Tumbling (Scenema Concept International) Jerico Ejercito and Camille Prats, (2) Tuhog (Quantum Films) Eugene Domingo, Jake Cuenca, Enchong Dee, (3) Sa ‘Yo Ang Sinapupunan (Solar Films & Brillante Mendoza) Nora Aunor, Bembol Roco, Lovi Poe, (4) My Prince Charming and Death March (Deus Lux Mea Films) Iza Calzado and Mario Maurer, and an untitled script from Center Stage Productions which stars Coco Martin, Maja Salvador, Jake Cuenca and Albert Martinez.

Star Cinema’s initial offering for 2011 is a horror comedy film entitled ‘Bulong‘, featuring Vhong Navarro and Ms. Angelica Panganiban.

Also included in the casts are Bangs Garcia, Jon Avila, Eda Nolan, Teddy Corpuz, Lara Morena, Neri Naig, and Sylvia Sanchez.

According to Vhong, this movie is very different from his past projects and the caliber of the film is same with “Sukob” and “Feng Shiu,” both produced by Star Cinema.

Bulong is directed by Chito Roño and premieres in theaters nationwide on February 2, 2011.
