American Idol Season 11 has just announced its annual Summer Tour for 2012. The Top 10 contestants this season (Erika Van Pelt, Heejun Han, Deandre Brackensick, Colton Dixon, Jessica Sanchez, Hollie Cavanagh, Elise Testone, Skylar Laine, Joshua Ledet, and Phillip Phillips) will take the stage for the live show, which kicks off July 6 at Joe Louis Arena in Detroit. The final show is set for September 11 in Milwaukee.

Korean-American contestant Heejun Han was eliminated on American Idol Season 11 Top 9 on Thursday night, March 29.

Together with Heejun on the bottom three were Hollie Cavanagh and Skylar Laine. The 22-year-old from Flushing, Queens, New York, received the lowest votes among the nine contestants.

Last night, Heejun was given a standing ovation for his performance of Donnie Hathaway’s hit “A Song For You.” The judges loved his version of the song. Judge Steven Tyler said: “That is the most beautiful tone, most beautiful vibrato.”

The judges gave Heejun a standing ovation. “You did it. You turned it around,” says Steven – “He is here because we know he can sing that way. That is the most beautiful tone, the most beautiful vibrato,” J-Lo praises. Randy is less impressed but still positive. Heejun gets emotional and says he doesn’t want to let his kids down… playing the family card –good move!

American Idol has just revealed the Top 13 for Season 11 held on March 1, 2012. After their two nights performances, the Top 24 were trimmed down to 13. The Top 10 contestants were picked based on votes. 5 girls, 5 boys and 3 from the 6 wild cards singers.

Here’s the list of wild card contestants chosen by the judges: Erika Van Pelt (Randy Jackson), Jeremy Rosado (Jennifer Lopez), and DeAndre Brackensick (Steven Tyler).

American Idol Season 11 has just revealed the Top 24 contestants for 2012. Last Wednesday, the Top 14 were announced followed by the remaining Top 10 on Thursday, Feb. 23.

“Idol” also revealed a new twist just before the end of the show tonight. This year, the judges decided to add another male contestant because they feel one deserve to get through.

On February 28, Richie Law, Johnny Keyser, David Leathers, and Jermaine Jones will compete for the 13th spot for the boys.
