Philippine Comedy King “Dolphy” has passed away Tuesday night, July 10, according to his long time partner Zsa Zsa Padilla in a report via ABS-CBN News. He was 83.

His publicist, Nene Riego, also confirmed that Dolphy passed away at the Makati Medical Center 8:34 pm Tuesday, after a long bout with Chronic Obstructive Pulmonary Disease.

Dolphy was in showbiz for over 60 years, taking on roles such as Facifica Falayfay, John Puruntong, & Mang Kevin.

Philippine King of Comedy “Dolphy” is now in critical condition according to his son Eric Quizon. In a text message sent to ABS-CBN, Eric said he can’t talk about his father’s condition right now and appealed to the public for understanding. Instead, the young Quizon asked for prayers for Mang Dolphy’s speedy recovery.

“Dad is critical at the moment. I hope you understand if I can’t talk right now. Will update you later. We need your prayers,” Eric said in a text message.

Last June 9, Dolphy was rushed to Makati Medical Center due to pneumonia and ileus or potassium deficiency.
