De La Hoya and Mayweather Rematch

It looks like Oscar De La Hoya have plans to back off on a May fight, but the Golden Boy is now expecting at a big money rematch with Floyd Mayweather due this September.

Their first bout that broke all PPV records last May in Las Vegas. Golden Boy Promotions’ CEO Richard Schaefer told ESPN that the bout is almost finalized on September.

The most awaited fight and most expensive fight of the year has finally come this year. According to Dela Hoya’s promotional company last January have almost finalized the bout. Oscar Dela Hoya and Floyd mayweather would be on September 13 or 20 on HBO payperview.

According to Golden Boy Promotions CEO Richard Schaefer the site for Mayweather-De La Hoya II hasn’t yet been settled but he already holding the September fight dates at the 27,000-seat Home Depot Center, the outdoor home to the Los Angeles Galaxy of Major League Soccer. According to him other venues are also interested and that includes the MGM Grand in Las Vegas.

A fight rematch with Oscar De La Hoya with actual stats 38-5, 30 KOs would delay Floyd Mayweather 39-0, 25 KOs hopping to a combination of martial arts, which he has already discussed to Dancing with the Stars pal and Dallas Mavericks owner Mark Cuban, who also owns his own MMA promotional company.
