The Animation Council of the Philippines Inc. (ACPI) supports all Filipinos who wish to expand their talent in the field of animation. ACPI aims to promote the Philippines as a Global Destination for Animation Outsourcing, as a lucrative career for Filipinos and the development of locally produced original content. The council organized the 2nd Animahenasyon Pinoy Animation Festival that will run from November 12-16, 2008. What’s exciting in the event is the homecoming of 2 successful Filipino animators from PIXAR.
In relation to this, the other day, i received a message from Ronnie Sapinoso. One of the greatest and talented Filipino animators i’ve known. He is also a digital film maker and a writer. His creations are perfectly done with passion and artistic design. Ronnie like other Filipino Animators from the world’s biggest loved cartoons such as Finding Nemo, Tom and Jerry, The Incredibles and Dragon Ball Z are truly an inspiration to all other aspiring Filipino animators.
Two years ago, Ronnie won the Grand Prize in the Fourth Animazing Short Animation Competition for Kalesa. This is originally drawn and animated by Ronnie himself.
Ronnie is currently promoting his own masterpiece of a Wall-E like creation. In fact, this video was already published when Wall-E was shown in theaters. The robot according to Ronnie was actually inspired from the movie E.T. (The Extra Terrestrial), same with the director and co-producer Steven Spielberg of E.T. the imaginary friend from the Philippine Tarsier in Bohol.
The Story : After world war 3 a robot reboots and finds that he is alone, and searching for his creator is the greatest adventure of all.
Thoughts : Ronnie made an interesting combination of Filipino culture in the modern world. In fact, it made me cry while watching it. A very inspiring and heart-warming short film. Carefully and beautifully designed. Goodluck to you Bro!
Ang galing mo Ronnie! Proud to be Pinoy!

nice! goodluck ronnie! gusto ko din matuto ng ganyan e.

this is great as we have so many talented artist here in the philippines. i’m crossing my fingers on the development. it’s about time to showcase the filipino talents naman talaga. pero sana lang walang crab mentality na mangyari para naman umasenso yung upcoming industry na ito. kudos to pinoy animators, i wish you all well! ^_^

yes, all filipinos are talented walang bobo ika nga… Not all are educated o nakagraduate but they are the one who give names to Philippines di ba. Like who? our boxers, singers, etc…
When it comes to technology, hmmm… mas computer literate pa tayo sa ibang bansa who can afford to buy 3 to 5 sets of pc’s. Kahit walang computer sa house natututo di ba.
