Ateneo wins the championship finals today at the last game of UAAP held at the Araneta Coliseum in Cubao. It was a great game according to the fans. The game was very intense especially when DLSU scored 15 point lead in half-time of the game.
Star Player shooting guard Chris Tiu, who returned for one more season could be his last hopes of winning a title, led the way for the Blue Eagles with 16 points.
This is the second time for Ateneo Blue Eagles since 2002 and fourth time in the UAAP Championship. “Mas matamis nga daw ang pagkapanalo nila dahil ang nakalaban nila ay ang mahigpit nitong kalaban na De La Salle Green Archers.”
The 2008 Eagles may go down as one of the most dominant teams in UAAP history. They dropped only one game throughout the tournament. And for the first time in its storied rivalry with La Salle, Ateneo swept its season series 4-0. - Inquirer.net
The game scored 62-51.
