TV host and actress Megan Young, 23, from Olongapo City was crowned winner of Miss World Philippines 2013 held on Sunday, August 18 at the Grand Ballroom of the Solaire Resort and Casino-Manila in Pasay City.
The pageant was hosted by Carla Abellana, KC Montero and Victor Basa, with Gwendoline Ruais and Divine Lee as co-anchors.
Megan bested 25 other contestants and won 8 out of 15 special awards including the Best in Fashion Runway, Miss Sports by FILA, Miss Reducin, Miss Olay, Miss Laguna, Miss Bold and Glamorous by Revlon, Miss Figlia and Miss Bench Body.
During the Q&A portion, Megan answered the question, “Why do you want to be Miss World Philippines?”
She said “Miss World PH is selfless and to be selfless, you need to have a heart. If I win Miss World PH, I would give myself wholeheartedly to be of service. Beauty with a heart.”
Other winners: Janicel Lubina (1st), Zahra Saldua (2nd), Bianca Paz (3rd), and Omarie Linn Osuna (4th).
Megan will represent the country in the Miss World 2013 pageant to be held on September 28 in Jakarta, Indonesia.
