WATCH: President Duterte Blasts Female Senator, De Lima Reacts

President Rodrigo Duterte lambasted a senator for being an “immoral woman” in his speech during the 115th anniversary of police service in Camp Crame on Wednesday.

According to Duterte, this senator, whom he did not identify, kept complaining about the ongoing campaign of his administration against illegal drugs.

The President accused this female senator of having a “driver and lover” who accepted money from “Muntinlupa.” Duterte was referring to money from drug lords at the National Bilibid Prisons.

“Here’s a senator complaining. One day I will tell you that her driver himself, who was a lover, was the one collecting money for her during the campaign,” said Duterte.

“An immoral woman, insofar as the driver’s wife is concerned, it’s adultery. Here’s a woman who funded a house of a lover and yet we don’t say any complaint about it,” the President said.

Even though she was not directly named by Duterte, a teary-eyed Sen. Leila De Lima slammed the President during a break of the Senate session, she said the remarks of Duterte “very foul.”

“Someone told me just that it’s very surprising. My first reaction is I don’t want to dignify that. It’s so foul. It’s character assassination,” said De Lima.
