WATCH: President Duterte Apologizes to Chief Justice Sereno For His Harsh Words

President Rodrigo Duterte humbly apologized to Chief Justice Maria Lourdes Sereno for his ‘harsh words’ after naming those allegedly involved in the illegal drug trade.

“I get tangled with the Chief Justice. I would apologize to the Chief Justice for the harsh words. It was never intended. Ba’t ako kasi because of the magnitude of the problem,” Duterte said during a press conference in Davao City on Thursday, August 12, 2016.

“It was my way of solving the problem within the ambit of my powers as president. Kayo ang humihingi eh, even the media,” he added.

Duterte also said that it was his duty to inform the Filipino people about the dangers of illegal drugs in the country.

On Tuesday, the President warned Sereno to not interfere with his campaign on the ongoing war against illegal drugs or else he would rather declare martial law.
