Manny Villar popularized the campaign of Sipag at Tiyaga is also known as Manuel “Manny” Bamba Villar Jr. Born in Tondo, Manila on December 13, 1949, Villar is a Filipino businessman and politician and currently a Philippine Senator, president of the Nacionalista Party, and a candidate for president in the 2010 presidential election.

Manny Villar Education and Early Life :

• Manny is the son of Manuel Montalban Villar, Sr. and Curita Bamba
• He assisted his mother in selling seafood at the Divisoria Public Market in order to help earn the money to support his family and himself to school
• He finished his high school education at the Mapúa Institute of Technology
• Manny Villar is a graduate of University of the Philippines with a degree and Masters in Business Administration

Manny Villar Work Experience :

• He worked as an accountant for Sycip, Gorres, Velayo & Co. (SGV & Co)
• He also worked as a financial analyst for the Private Development Corporation of the Philippines
• Villar started a business delivering sand and gravel for construction companies with initial capital of P10,000
• He then acquired several housing projects most specifically located in the Southern part of Metro Manila
• Villar entered politics in 1992 when he was elected to the House of Representatives
• He was chosen Speaker of the House of Representatives in 1998
• He was chosen Senate President in July 2006
• He was elected to the Senate in 2001, and later won re-election in 2007
